IGS is engaged in Action research and promoting livelihood strategies and solutions that have potential to promote a large number of sustainable livelihoods. IGS strives to achieve the twin objectives of (i) developing sub-sector / vector intervention products and processes for livelihood promotion through pilot intervention and (ii) providing technical assistance and support services to institutions (including Community based institutions) involved in promotion of livelihoods of poor and women.

Services and Sectors

  1. Innovations on Livelihood Sector which involves Initiatives action research, piloting, customising, and scaling up of initiatives in rural areas and preferably in underdeveloped regions.
  2. Implementing high impact projects which complement livelihoods improvements and enhancement especially in agriculture, allied and non-farm sectors.

These initiatives are taken up with the support of Grants by the Donor including bilateral and multilateral agencies, corporates under CSR funding and government agencies. A limited number of projects are undertaken in the above initiatives with fee support.

The services are provided in sectors of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Non-farm.
